One of the great kale treats discovered is the kale chip. Kale chips are awesome! They are flavorful, nutritious, and easy to make. You can dehydrate them or bake them. They taste good sweet, savory, spicy, cheesy, and plain. I have made my share of delicious raw kale chips over the past few years, and find that sweet chips are my favorite. This recipe is absolutely great! I love peaches and sweet cream – which these chips deliver! Be sure to make double batches as the chips go quickly, just like candy!
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
2/3 cup cashews soaked up to 4 hours and drained
¼ cup maple syrup
¼ cup agave
½ T vanilla extract
½ tsp pink Himalayan salt
1 cup pecan pieces
2 peaches, stoned and chopped into small chunks
dash ground cinnamon
1 bunch kale, stems removed
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients except kale, pecans, and peaches. Blend until smooth, adding a splash of water if needed. Add peaches and pecans and coarsely chop, and combine well. Place kale into large bowl and pour mixture over top. Massage mixture into kale until well coated.
Arrange on dehydrator trays and dry for about 10 to 12 hours until dry.
