Nothing but the Juice!

For those of you who have been following my personal blog, you know that I recently completed a 10-day Master Cleanse, followed by a three-day juice feast. Since then I have been on a 100% raw food diet, and I feel great! It’s been a long time since I have been so pure, but I’m glad I did it. I’m still in my “reboot” stage, and will be till I deem necessary. Regardless, I’m going to continue to be much more conscious of my body’s personal needs than before so I don’t slack so much.

Anyway, I thought I’d give you a list of my favorite juice combinations that I have been having over the past few weeks. I don’t have any pictures, but I’m sure you can tell the yumminess just from the combinations listed below. I do plan to post some more raw food entrees and desserts real soon. In fact, I’m working on some right now. Till then, get the ol’ juicer out and “juice baby, juice”!!!

  1. I’m impressed you’ve been making juices with so many ingredients.

Like the V8 one sounds awesome, but to me it seems like it’d be such a pain to get all of these things:

    My V8.
    12 long carrots
    1 red bell pepper
    2 large beef tomatoes
    6-8 leaves kale
    ½ bunch parsley
    1 bunch spinach

Just to make some juice. I guess if you already do lots of grocery shopping for a large family or something it’s not a big addition. Personally, my juices have been more like smoothies because I’ve been using frozen fruits and vegetables that I get from Trader Joe’s (local grocer). My sort of go to recipe involves a banana, some frozen berries, frozen spinach, frozen kale, and some orange juice and/or coconut water (if I want to shell out the extra cost for Coconut wate r- which I love).

Anyway, I probably should start trying to make some fresher juices. I suspect they’d be even better for me, but I’m pretty comfortable with my current situation and it seems reasonably healthy (and tasty too).

    1. Hi Jennifer,

I agree with you that smoothies are far easier to make on a regular basis, just as nutritious, and can be more cost effective.
However, so many of my acquaintances juice, so I thought I’d give it a real try. I started after my cleanse, and really got into it.
My grocery bill did go up a bit, but not too bad. Now I’m back to having at least one juice a day, and one to two smoothies, plus a salad type meal.
That seems to be the perfect situation for me. But I do love the juices, and I do love the smoothies!!! All good!!!

The easiest juices for me to make are the carrot apple, apple grape, watermelon grape, and watermelon apple.
I love the green juices, but they take so much more time and bulk to get good juice. Of course, there are better juicers for greens out there. But they can be costly.
So it depends on the individuals situation, and what works best.

As for the smoothies, I pretty much do what you do, I shop Trader Joe’s for frozen fruits, use bananas, and fresh fruits, and then get a bag of spinach and blend away. Simple and delish!

Well let me know if you do start juicing, and what you experience. Blessings to you! 🙂
