For most of my life I have been dealing with diet issues – always concerned with what to eat, when to eat, where to eat, and WHY I EAT! No diet can ever be 100% successful if you can’t get to the root of why you eat. Eating disorders come in all forms, shapes and sizes.
According to Wikipidea.com, “Eating disorders refer to a group of conditions defined by abnormal eating habits that may involve either insufficient or excessive food intake to the detriment of an individual’s physical and mental health. Bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, and binge eating disorder are the most common specific forms…” Although it’s not really known what causes these eating disorders, it could very well be a combination of physiological, biological, and sociological reasons. Face it, we live in a society where body image is important, but so is food – all kinds of food! We are constantly being stimulated by food, and by image.
We are told to eat when we’re sad, eat when we’re glad. Eat to celebrate life, eat to mourn one’s death. Eat when you are successful, eat when you are down. Eat, eat, eat, eat, eat! On the other hand, we are told that image determines how people look at you. If you are overweight you are unhealthy. If you are too skinny you are unhealthy. This constant concern with food and image can cause all kinds of emotional, physical, and social issues. It can lead to disease, illness, and premature aging. We need balance. Diet is a matter of lifestyle. In order to achieve that balance, we need to address our battles with eating disorders (ED).
So how do we deal with balancing diet and image? How can we can control or eliminate our battles with ED? Besides changing the foods we eat, we have to address the why and when we eat. Tera Warner and her team, of TeraWarner.com (formerly The Raw Divas) has put together a 9-day “Getting Over ED” tele-summit.
This 9 day summit will feature calls from a panel of experts addressing topics like Recovering from Eating Disorders, high density foods can change your health and life, how to eat for freedom and joy, overcoming obesity and creating optimal wealth and more. Though the program is free for participants to listen to the calls. “Getting Over ED” starts TODAY, January 20th and will last for 9 days. I strongly advise you to sign-up today so you don’t miss out on any of the great information that will be offered over these next 9-days. I personally just found out about it this morning, and immediately signed-up. So please join me. Let’s work on ending our own personal issues with Eating Disorders once and for all! You can click here to learn more and sign-up.
I look forward to sharing what we learn during the next nine days and see what changes we can make to find that balance. I know I need this for me. I’ve been a raw foodist for five years now, and found myself falling back into old eating patterns over the past year and half – with good food! Eating for me is more than just food, it has a lot to do with how I relate to food and to life. I’m truly looking forward to this summit. I hope you join me.
It's weird. The more and more I see and look around the more people I see that HAD ED problems and went RAW. SO WEIRD!
